Shipping policy for hemerocallis

Plant Passports

Please note that all shipments must have the appropriate 'Plant Passport' included with your plants as of Dec 2019. This is not a phytosanitary certificate which is not needed within mainland UK, but rather an official document to move regulated plants and plant products within the countries as a means of allowing traceability as to origin of plant material. Strictly Daylilies Ltd has been authorised by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) to issue plant passports which you will find on your packing invoice. This should be retained for your records.

Plant Preparation

All plants are bare rooted. This includes shipped plants as well as local pick up. They are washed and cleaned of soil or compost, disinfected and trimmed to prevent excessive moisture loss. This is the safest and best way to receive your daylilies. Although hemerocallis can survive for many weeks in this state we use the quickest delivery method appropriate.

Time of Dispatch

We dispatch bare root daylilies from  April to October dependent on the weather although you can order at any time to reserve your plants.

Winter and Spring orders will be dispatched in the order they were received once the weather is conducive. We will keep you informed as to the date your order will be sent.

Dispatch date for your order (posted and local pick-up)  is posted on the home page at the time you place your order (please make sure you refresh your browser). You will receive written confirmation via email as well. Please note that if you do not include your email address when ordering you will not receive confirmation of your order. If this date is not convenient for you just let us know and we can delay to suit your wishes.

Please ensure that your address  is correct by current Royal Mail standards to assure prompt and accurate delivery. We can not guarantee delivery if your email, telephone or address is missing, incomplete, incorrect, or if you have chosen the incorrect shipping method. You can check your address by clicking the following link.   https://www.royalmail.com/find-a-postcode

If you have opted to pick up plants they will usually be available by Wednesday noon on your dispatch week noted on the home page as well as your email confirmation. You will receive an email when they are ready for pick up.

Out of Stock

Where a variety of daylily is marked as being out of stock it will mean that we have young plants developing for sale the following year but have sold out of mature plants for the current year. You can place a reserve order for these hemerocallis at any time by contacting us but you will not have to pay until the reserved plants are ready for dispatch.

Hemerocallis plant sizes

We will always supply the very best hemerocallis specimens that we have available. Our potted daylily stock for sale are grown on in a 2, 4 or 6 litre pot. Our plants are supplied bare rooted as a minimum of a double fan size but most will be three or four fans. The size of individual fans vary a good deal by variety. Some cultivars produce very large fans, some ‘mini’ varieties are small, and the spidery forms are often very sparse all due to their inherent nature.

Returns policy

We want our customers to be happy with their daylily purchases and if, for any reason, you are not entirely satisfied you may return any plant for a full refund. Please contact us if you wish to return anything or have any quality queries. No Quibble!
